FALL Makes a Mess…

 

Hehehe, well that’s what I can say..

Our backyard is covered with dried leaves, same as our front yard and also our driveway. It was last week when I had the scare of my life. I came back from the store and I was going up our driveway. It rained prior to me going to the store. When I was going up, my car was backing  down, no matter how I step on the gas, I was slipping down.  I was sweating to death, if I backed  down, there’s a possibility that I can fall off our neighbor’s front yard (across the street from us) and it’s a little steep too.

I had to turn off my car at the foot of our driveway, but I felt that if I took  my foot off the break, it will back down to the road. But I didn’t have any choice. I can’t even call home since I didn’t have my cell phone with me, and I didn’t see anybody that can see my situation. I had to take a chance of getting out of the car, but it’s on park. I even forgot my key, ran to the house, called Rodney and told him that the car is stuck at the driveway. It’s a little cold and without his shirt on, he went to my car and stepped on the gas so hard that it was making so much noise. It had a hard time going up. When he finally was able to park it, he told me it’s the wet leaves that made my tires slipping down the driveway.

So now, we make sure that we clean our driveway,  if it’s dry, it’s alright but when it rains and the leaves are wet, I won’t go anywhere. It’s scary enough that I was about to  drop by at my neighbor’s front yard without a notice, hehehe. Rodney doesn’t have problems with his truck, his is a 4 wheel drive, mine is not.

Just a precaution, if your driveway is steep, please clean it up and get rid of all those dried leaves that will get wet when it rains, or even when it snowed.  I learned my lesson the hard way.
